Brazil gets all helicopters Mi-35M in 2011

The contract to supply Brazil's multi-purpose attack helicopters Mi-35M is fully executed in 2011, reports "Interfax" referring to the press service of the Russian holding company "Helicopters of Russia". As expected, the final batch of Russian helicopters will be transferred to Brazil by the end of 2011. To date, the customer has received six Mi-35M.
Brazil acquired 12 Mi-35M in 2008. The deal amounted to $ 150 million. The contract with the "Russian Helicopters" was signed following a tender held the Brazilian Air Force in 2007. The competition was attended by Italian company AgustaWestland helicopter with A-129 Mangusta, European Eurcopter with EC665 Tiger and the "Rosoboronexport" with the Mi-35M. In the final tender took Russian and Italian helicopters, and by the end of the contest was preferred to the Mi-35M.

Mi-35M, the export version of the Russian Mi-24 is capable of speeds up to 340 kilometers per hour, and its flight range is about a thousand miles away. The helicopter is capable of carrying a combat load of up to 900 pounds in eight suspension points. The Mi-35M is designed to defeat enemy armored vehicles, fire support to ground units, the landing and transportation of various cargoes.
