Number of forest fires in Russia decreased by half a day, up to 12 seats

Number of forest fires in Russia for the last day dropped dramatically from 23 to 12 seats, the most difficult situation is observed in the forests of Kamchatka, the Federal Forestry Agency (FFA).

"As of Friday morning in Russia on forest land, there are 12 forest fires in the area of 407 hectares. Of these three fires are burning in the Kamchatka region in the area of 242 hectares and seven fires in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the area 158 hectares," — said in a statement.

According to the forest department, over the past day 22 extinguished the fire. For fire involved 678, 109 units of fire engines and ten aircraft.

As predicted by the agency, in the next few days in some regions are expected to increase fire danger, mainly in the forests of the Siberian and Southern Federal Districts.

"High, places extreme fire danger is expected in the west of the Murmansk region, in the south-east of the Republic of Kalmykia and Astrakhan, Orenburg region, the central regions of the Krasnoyarsk region and the east Evenkia" — note in the FFA.
