Ministry of Natural Resources has prepared the first environmental rating, which identified the most environmentally friendly and polluted city of Russia. The study was conducted among the largest settlements. Environmental conditions in cities evaluated according to seven criteria: water quality, air condition, waste management, use of areas, energy, transport, management of environmental impacts.
Vologda was in first place on the quality of air, and in the aggregate — in fourth place, only 82 of the city were investigated. Vologda ahead and made three of the cleanest golrodov Volgograd, Moscow and Saransk. Moscow took sixth place. Pskov, Omsk and Perm were found cities with the worst environmental and settled at the end of the rating.
In the cities included in the rating, is home to about 55 million people — about one-third of the population. The first eco-rating was made on the results of 2011, in September, will be prepared rating for last year. In the future such lists Ministry of Natural Resources plans to produce annually.
