April 10 in Moscow, opened the Center for Plasma Research and Technology MSTU. Bauman. From the government in a ceremony attended by Vice Prime Minister Vladislav Surkov.

At the event, saying only that the opening Center for Plasma Research and Technology MSTU— Is a unique research and education center, which has no analogues in Russia. Here, the leading Russian and foreign experts in the field of plasma physics and plasma technology conducting basic and applied research. In the interests of the center, assured the rector Bauman. Bauman Anatoly Alexandrov, virtually no restrictions — they apply to a wide range of modern science of plasma.

Now The Center for Plasma Research and Technology three laboratories:

  • "Dusty plasma"
  • "The technology of plasma coatings and plasma sources,"
  • "New Materials".

However, this is not the limit: in the near future is expected to open new laboratories for research in physics, plasma medicine and space technology.

In the meantime, the center will serve 25 researchers. They represent not only the MSTU. Bauman, but the Joint Institute for High Temperatures, Russian Academy of Sciences, and the German Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, Max Planck Society. Classes at the center will be able to find for himself and young professionals, graduate students, students from the Bauman University.

Although the center will lead the director of the Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics Munich Gregor Morfill, Alexandrov strongly emphasized that the funding of the educational component of the center will be borne by the university.
