Earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred in Alaska

Earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred on Tuesday in southern Alaska, a few dozen kilometers from the big city, according to the U.S. Geological Survey website.

Information about the possible destruction and injuries were reported.

The epicenter of the earthquake, recorded at 16.42 local time on Monday (Tuesday 05.42 MSK), located only 39 kilometers west of Anchorage — Alaska's largest city. Hearth tremors occur at the depth of 50.1 kilometers.
