British lawyers are trying to draw attention to themselves, using the well-known Belarusian leader and the political exigencies of the situation, told BelaPAN spokesman for the Belarusian president Paul Light.
He was commenting on an article in the British newspaper «The Independent».
The publication reported that a British law firm H2O Law is preparing to initiate a private prosecution against Alexander Lukashenko.
"We are confident that we have all the necessary ingredients to produce as a private prosecution and civil action to Alexander Lukashenko. We are willing to enter into this business, and families that we represent, are committed, "- said in an interview with founding partner of H2O Law Jason McKay.
"Prospects in this venture — zero — said Paul Light. — It is actually not more than PR campaign gentlemen lawyers. This is the only way though as draw attention to themselves, using the well-known Belarusian leader and the political exigencies of the situation. I think that the organizers are well aware that it is an empty advertising zilch. But "The Independent", without examining the substance of the matter, simply fell for a cheap trick. The image of a serious publication like, for I think, just hurts. "
