Emergencies Ministry warns of flooding on the Black Sea coast

General Directorate of Emergency Situations Ministry in Krasnodar Region on Tuesday announced an emergency alert on the Black Sea coast of Russia and in the mountainous areas of the region due to the expected rise of the level of rivers and possible flooding, the press service of the ministry.

"According to the regional meteorologist, on Tuesday and Wednesday in the rivers and small streams the Black Sea coast of Russia is expected sharp rise in water levels, sometimes to dangerous elevations and higher," — said in a statement.

Binge elements possible in Abinsk and Seversky District, and the cities of Anapa, Gelendzhik, Hot Key, Novorossiysk and Sochi. Raising the level of the rivers are also possible in the Crimean and Tuapse districts this summer affected by the floods, added the press service said.

According to the Administration of Sochi, heavy rains and storms can trigger level rise in the 17 rivers of the city, can be flooded 24 settlements and neighborhoods of the city.
