On the "Scat" was planned to install a turbojet engine RD-5000B thrust exceeding 5040 kg, produced by JSC "Klimov". Impressive and the projected range of 4 thousand km, and the ceiling is 12 km.

Work on the project started in 2005, and by the time of the MAKS-2007 had already created a full-size mock-up design solutions for testing, evaluation and optimization of certain features of the device. The next step was to establish a "flying laboratory," working model for the final finishing of all the technology and components.

Western professionals "Scat" already recalled outside the South American UAV X-47 Pegasus, although it increased in size (this UAV also not yet been completed, although it is developing at a good pace — read "" Pegasus "encourages war"). In general, the same experts after the MAKS-2007 called "do not underestimate" this apparatus. Although the global market for unmanned aerial vehicles, he hardly managed to be a stunning novelty, but he fully meet modern requirements, and most importantly — a little problem facing the Russian army.

Unfortunately, the end of the story seems to be rather pessimistic. Since the layout of public demonstrations of wood in 2007, news about the progress of the project "Scat" no no.
