Maria Sharapova won the tennis tournament in Cincinnati. It is reported by Agence France-Presse.

In the final match of the Russian has won at Elena Jankovic of Serbia in three sets with a score of 4:6, 7:6, 6:3. The meeting lasted two hours and 49 minutes. The victory in the tournament in Cincinnati was for Maria Sharapova's 24th career singles titles and the second in 2011.

Sharapova played in the finals of the tournament in Cincinnati, the second straight year. In 2010, in the final match she lost to Kim Clijsters of Belgium.

Maria Sharapova climbed to fourth place in the world tennis rankings after winning the tournament in the U.S.
