Over San Francisco unidentified flying fireball

October 17 evening, many residents around San Francisco has been a slow flying fireball flight which ended with a deafening explosion.

Wes Jones of Belmont by wide camera had caught the trees disappearing meteorite. At the same time, numerous witnesses reported a bright flash and a powerful explosion that rocked the house.

Peter Dzhenniskens from the Department of Space Studies of NASA said the phenomenon. "We still do not know what was the end point of the flight: the ocean or land. These systems are automated to give us the answer to this question. Now we analyze the resulting materials "? said the scientist.

Meanwhile, experts have already made the first assumption. It is possible that the car was part of the Orionids meteor shower generated by Halley's comet, which is now approaching Earth and will peak on October 21. However, the date and the direction of flight of the meteorite put this hypothesis into question.
Many American bloggers have also confirmed that they saw the flash and explosion near San Francisco at 19:45 Eastern Time.
