Moscow and Minsk have initialed the general contract for the construction of nuclear power plant in Belarus, told the head of "Rosatom" Sergey Kiriyenko.

"Today, organizations from both sides initialed the general contract for the bulk of the nuclear power plant facilities. This means that all approvals completed," — said Kiriyenko.

He noted that the parties proceed from the fact that the June contract has to be signed. "It can be combined with the official procedure of laying a capsule at the base of a future nuclear power plant," — said the head of "Rosatom", highlighting a full understanding of the parties on this issue.

Earlier it was reported that the construction of Russian design nuclear power plant in Belarus is scheduled to begin this summer.
