In Minsk came to a group of journalists of 13 people representing the media in Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and the United Kingdom, the press service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists.
The purpose of the visit — it is better to acquaint the citizens of the states — members of the European Union with specific projects that the EU takes place in Belarus in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy (EPS). Press tour began with a one-day program in Brussels, after which the journalists waiting for intensive three-day tour of Belarus.
European journalists will be able to get information from a variety of sources: from the representatives of Belarusian authorities, diplomats, local authorities, NGOs, independent experts and the media. Moreover, as part of the tour will be a visit to the information center for sustainable development and ecotourism. The center was recently opened in Novopolotsk, Vitebsk region in the framework of the project "Sustainable development at the local level", which is supported by the EU and the UN Development Programme.
The visit comes within the framework of a series of briefings on the European Neighbourhood Policy. It is organized with the financial support of the European Commission's Directorate-General for External Relations. Organizational support of the tour provided by the European Journalism Centre, Representation European Union in Belarus and the "Belarusian Association of Journalists."
