Kurils shaking twice a day

Earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred on Sunday afternoon in the South Kuril Islands. The epicenter was located underground hit about 130 km south of the city Kurilsk on the island of Iturup. The earthquake lies at a depth of 40 km below the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, said the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to seismologists, Sakhalin, the Pacific tectonic upheavals in the Kuril Islands were not felt, there was no tsunami threat. The Kuril Islands is the second earthquake that day. The first magnitude 4.7 occurred at night, the ITAR-TASS news agency.
