Philippine authorities reported that floods and landslides caused by typhoon "Uoshi" killed at least 957 people in the country. As reported in the Tuesday, December 20, Reuters, 49 more people remain missing.
Most of the "Uoshi", which hit the Philippines late last week, affected coastal villages around the cities of Cagayan — de Oro and the league, in the south of the country.
Reuters notes that the authorities of the city as quickly as possible trying to bury the dead, to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in the centers where evacuated people affected by the typhoon.
According to the Philippine government, everything from "Uoshi" affected about 338,000 people.
