In Australia, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2

16.04.2011, 12:47:01 Brisbane Australia 5.2 magnitude earthquake felt by residents of Queensland in north-east coast of the mainland. According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the magnitude of the quake was 5.2. Hearth element lies at a depth of about 10 km with respect to the seabed.

G.Taunsvill municipal authorities on the Pacific coast reported that the quake was felt in the city, but data on damage were reported. According to the TV and Radio Australian Broadcasting Corp., Population of several coastal towns also felt the tremors.

In the city of Christchurch New Zealand earthquake with magnitude 5.3

16/04/2011 16:38:16. In Christchurch on the South Island of New Zealand on April 16 there was a 5.3 aftershock strength on the Richter scale.

The earthquake occurred at 17:49 local time. The epicenter was located 20 kilometers south-east of Christchurch, the focus earthquakes occur at a depth of 11 km, said Novozelandskiyinstitut geology and nuclear research.

A local resident told Trend. Xinhua that he saw some of the goods at the local supermarket fell down during the earthquake.

Power transmission in some parts of the city stopped. Local power company is making efforts to restore power.

February 22 in the city, an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale, killing 181 people.
