Sailboat Hope will promote Russia abroad

August 25 in Vladivostok, Russian center was opened on board the sailing training ship "Hope" of the Maritime State University named after GI Nevel. Center became the 75th in a row open by the "Russian world" and the world's first "floating" Russian center.

Sailboat "Hope" is ready for an overseas campaign, which coincided with the opening in Vladivostok in 2012, the meeting of heads of states — participants of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.

Campaign itself will consist of two stages. The first will begin in early September. Glider goes to North America, visit Honolulu, where the relay will transfer the APEC-2011 summit of APEC 2012. End of the first phase is scheduled for December, and in February 2012 the "Nadezhda" will head to South-East Asia and Australia. The return of the second phase of the campaign is scheduled for September 1, 2012 — the eve of the APEC summit in Russia.

During the voyage "Hope" will go to the 18 ports of the Asia-Pacific region, including the U.S., Canada, Japan, China, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines. During the arrival of the ship open to the public, so the crew and passengers sailing charged with the mission popularize Russian maritime traditions, culture of our country and the Russian language.
