The first stage of a hydrofluorination uranium oxide was put at SCC

Physical start of the first stage of the installation hydrofluorination uranium oxides took a sublimate at JSC "Siberian Chemical Combine" (SCC, is a fuel company, Rosatom "fuel elements"), which is one of the stages of the center of the uranium conversion on the basis of the SCC, said "fuel elements".

Investment in the construction of the first stage of the facility amounted to about 50 million rubles.

"After the commissioning of the first phase of the installation hydrofluorination uranium oxides will be worked out technological regimes audited equipment. Incorporated in the installation of technological and design innovative solutions will be improved with the construction of the second phase, scheduled for 2012, "- said in a statement.

Commissioning of the plant hydrofluorination uranium oxides in full will and a half times increase the production capacity of the plant for the production of sublimation of commercial natural uranium hexafluoride.

At full capacity, the installation will work in the new conversion plant — production of uranium hexafluoride gas used in uranium enrichment, which later creates fuel for nuclear power plants. The active phase of construction of the plant is due to start in 2013, and in 2016 it is planned to start production.

JSC "Siberian Chemical Combine" — a closed city-forming enterprise Seversk Tomsk region. Is one of four Russian uranium enrichment plants, brings together five plants handling nuclear materials and CHP. One of the main activities of the SCC — meeting the needs of nuclear power plants in uranium for nuclear fuel, the production of heat and electricity.
