In central Italy, a series of earthquakes

ROME, July 12. / Itar-Tass Vera Scherbakov /. In central Italy — in the area between the cities of Forlì and Cesena at the Adriatic coast, a series of earthquakes.

Tremor force 4.0 on the Richter scale was registered today by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology at 8.53 am, followed by an earthquake of magnitude 3.9 to 9.15 points.

Tremors were felt clearly in the midst of, and even in Florence, where some people went out into the street. No casualties or damage were reported. In the town of Santa Sofia were evacuated patients at the local hospital.

Experts of the observed increase in seismic activity in the area for several weeks. It is located north and east of L'Aquila, where in 2009 there was a devastating earthquake that claimed more than 300 lives. A few weeks before the deadly jolt in L'Aquila there was a similar situation — multiple weak shocks.

Experts point out that the earthquake — a phenomenon hardly predictable. A day in Italy, representing young mobile seismic zone is up to 50 aftershocks.
