Beijing, July 31, PrimaMedia. An earthquake measuring 6.4 magnitude occurred in the northeast of Japan.

Tremors were felt in the capital — in Tokyo. Information about the devastation and possible victims has not yet announced. Tsunami warnings have also been reported, according to BBC Russian.

The earthquake occurred in the same area of the country as the March 11 disaster, when an earthquake and tsunami killed or went missing more than 20 thousand people.

The epicenter was located at a distance of 18 kilometers to the south-east of the city of Iwaki in Fukushima Prefecture and 186 kilometers northeast of Tokyo.

While not reported, suffered a nuclear power plant emergency, "Fukushima-1". Tremors occurred at 03.53 local time on Sunday at a depth of 44 km.
