In Java 5.3 tremors


JAKARTA, March 20. An earthquake measuring 5.3 occurred this morning on the Indonesian island of Java. ITAR-TASS referring to the Indonesian Department of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics, the oscillations of the earth's crust were felt in the southern part of West Java Province. No casualties or damage have been reported yet.

According to meteorologists, the focus lies at a depth of 10 kilometers under the sea 100 kilometers from the coast of West Java. Specialists note that the signs of a tsunami were recorded.

Recall, November 12, 2010 in the Indonesian province of Maluku Islands earthquake with magnitude 6.1. The epicenter was located 192 km north-west of Saumlaki Tanimbar islands, and lies at a depth of focus of 159 km under the sea Banda.

November 9, off the coast of the Indonesian island of Java was recorded earthquake of magnitude 5.4. The earthquake lies at a depth of 75.6 km. The earthquake was not far from the infamous volcano Mount Merapi.
