According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of earthquakes occur at a depth of 49 kilometers. Information on casualties or damage so far, reports Reuters.

The day before, on August 3, Shiveluch volcano on Kamchatka twice threw ash column with gas height of 6 and 7 feet above sea level. In this regard, the volcano has been assigned the code orange threat to aviation. Experts fear that the ash could get into the aircraft mechanisms and lead to accidents.

The most recent major earthquake was registered in Kamchatka April 21, 2006. Then the tremors of magnitude 7.6 has led to the partial destruction of several villages. Injured more than 40 people, more than a thousand people were evacuated.
