NORTHROP GRUMMAN ADVANCE GLOBAL HAWK UAV put WITH THE RAPID COMMUNICATION BACN
Northrop Grumman Corporation has delivered the U.S. Air Force Global Hawk UAV system with operational communications BACN (attlefield Airborne Communications Node).
 
Northrop Grumman delivered the modified Global Hawk UAV for four months before the deadline for an additional contract to provide operations of U.S. Central Command.
 
«Equipping UAV Global Hawk system BACN will allow commanders to ensure the necessary abilities for a flight lasting 30 hours,» said George Guerra (George Guerra), vice president of Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems for Unmanned Aircraft Systems. «This is important when ground units operate in mountainous areas where terrestrial communications systems do not work as well.»
 
BACN system provides voice communication and the exchange of information from different sources, using a set of computers and radio systems. They are also installed on the 2-UAV other EQ-4B Global Hawk and 3-aircraft E-11A Bombardier Global Express BD-700.
 
UAV was taken on September 7 at an air base in Grand Forks (North Dakota pcs) after a flight from the company’s factory in Palmdale (Calif.).
 
USAF Northrop Grumman issued a contract price of 47 million dollars in December 2011 for the purchase and integration kits BACN on 2-UAV Global Hawk. Previously, the company has also set equipped with a system BACN UAV Global Hawk in June 2012.
