CMP produced 270 million tons of steel

On the eve of the Day of Russia in steelmaking Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, included in the company "Mechel", produced the 270 millionth ton of steel. As the press service of the company, is currently in the oxygen-converter shop is implementing a program to replace the converter with the implementation of measures aimed at increasing the weight of the heat. The program provides a complete replacement of the three converters, waste heat boilers and gas exhaust ducts. In August 2011, as part of this program was replaced by the converter number 2, is currently being prepared by experts combine to replace the converter number 3.New units are equipped with modern flue gas cleaning systems that provide efficient filtration.

Also in 2012, the CCC has started continuous casting machine number 5 — the first stage of a universal rolling mill. Its main objective is to provide a new high-quality billet mill. CCM-5 is capable of producing the preform of different grades of steel — high-carbon, structural and alloyed, which once again confirms the status of the Chelyabinsk metallurgical plant as the largest producer of specialty steels and alloys in Russia.
