In Tatarstan, the innovation center instead decided to build IT-city of 150 thousand people

Far from Kazan in the next two decades should see the real city with a population of about 150,000 people. This was announced at the presentation of the project to create an innovation center "Innopolis Kazan."

The authors of the project are experts Singaporean RSP Architects. Presentation to the president and senior officials of Tatarstan held CEO Liu Thai Ker.

Welcoming the guests, President Rustam Minnikhanov said that a few days ago reported on the project to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and received his approval. "The success of the project was the obvious — announced Minnihanov — today it is important to go into action."

Liu Thai Ker noted that "Innopolis Kazan" is developed taking into account the areas of infrastructure and development of the road network. The project will be implemented in three stages, each of which will create about 20,000 jobs. In the city expect to settle IT-specialists, engineers, and their families, students, IT-University, the staff of shopping centers, entertainment and leisure services sector.

The height of the objects in Innopolis will be from 1 to 9 floors (most of the buildings of 3 to 7 storeys). First of all, planned to build a business incubator, research center, the building of the university, then — a commercial center and residential neighborhoods. Overall, "it will create favorable conditions for the work of the specialists of large international IT-companies, will encourage the training of qualified specialists federal universities and educational centers of innovation, will be a point of attraction for IT-professionals from neighboring regions."

Commenting on what he saw at the launch Minnikhanov reminded that the project is intended to create a platform for the development of IT-cluster (like the center "Skolkovo"), but it has now become clear that Innopolis to become self-sufficient satellite city of Kazan. According to Minihanov, this is particularly important in view of the development and expansion of Kazan towards Zelenodol’sk (40 km from the capital).

Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Information and Communication of Tatarstan Nikolai Nikiforov said that the project will be implemented under a public-private partnership: "Technology parks in the form of state institutions is not justified, and the project should be formed initially as a commercial and self-sustaining."

As to the opening in the "Innopolis Kazan" IT-University, then, according to Nikiforov, as a partner is considered an American Carnegie Mellon University (Carnegie Mellon University). For further design with all the legislation with Singaporean experts will work JSC "Kazan giproniiaviaprom," the news service writes Minihanov.

As reported A REGNUM, the name "Innopolis" came Rustam Minnikhanov at the end of last year during the Twitter discussion. The decisive argument for the choice was "a convenient center on the pronunciation of the name in any language." The initial size of the investment in the project was estimated then at 100 billion rubles.
