Production of cement in the first half of 2013 in Russia has increased, compared to the same period in 2012 by 7.7% — to 29.9 million tons, according to the study of "SMPro."
"From January to June 2013 in all regions of the Russian Federation, an increase in the production of cement compared to January-June 2012. Greatest increase in production was observed in the Central Federal District — by 15.3%, which corresponds to 985 thousand tons, and the Southern Federal District — by 16.3%, or by 630 thousand tons, "- says the report.
The consumption of cement in January-June 2013 increased by 7.5% compared to January-June of last year to 31.5 million tons, the report added. In addition, imports of cement for the same period rose 11% to 2.352 million tons, while exports increased by 29.1% to 808,000 tons.
In the June production of cement in Russia grew by 6.9% compared to June of last year and amounted to 7.1 million tons, while consumption increased by 4.8% to 7.5 million tons, indicated in the study. "These production and consumption of cement are a record for modern Russia", — stated in it.
According to "SMPro" cement imports in June 2013 decreased compared to the same period last year by 13.2% to 534 thousand tons, and exports, by contrast, grew by 27.1% to 188,000 tons.
