Received the first in Russia to the large scale production of polysilicon

December 20, 2010 in the main production Nitol produced the first batch of polysilicon.

  • Received the first in Russia to the large scale production of polysilicon

This is the first in Russia polysilicon produced in large scale production of a total design capacity of 5,000 tons per year.

Unique to the Russian production facility created in Nitol Usolye Siberian Irkutsk region with the participation of RUSNANO, Sberbank and the Eurasian Development Bank.

  • Received the first in Russia to the large scale production of polysilicon

The first polysilicon produced in the reactor at the start of the test real-world environments. All tasks have been solved — a successful launch confirmed the correctness of technology, the availability, the quality of construction works. Tests are carried out at the agreed phased program with RTN testing equipment, which will be followed by the release of products.

Exit production at full capacity is achieved in stages. In the first phase, in 2008, started the production capacity of 300 tons of polysilicon per year. In the second stage, by the middle of 2011, capacity will be brought to 3,500 tons per year.

"The country’s first large-scale production of polysilicon on — is the result of a large and hard work, not only the entire team of specialists Nitol. This success would not be possible without the participation of the project our main Russian partners — RUSNANO, Sberbank and the Eurasian Development Bank, "- commented Chairman of the Board of Directors Dmitry Kotenko.

The new production facility creates the material basis for the further development of the Russian microelectronics, and will be an important step towards the formation of a new industry in Russia — solar energy. The project contributes to the implementation of the tasks set by the Russian government to increase the share of renewable sources in the total electricity production and the rational use of energy resources.
