Tetrasvyaz announces plans to develop TETRA network and GLONASS in Moscow region

The company "Tetrasvyaz" federal services of a professional radio operator, has taken part in an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of the Moscow region, which took place on March 16.

At a meeting of the Board heard a report of "Tetrasvyaz" on the implementation of the investment project to build a network of professional radio TETRA standard 60 base stations in the Moscow region. By the end of 2010, the company has successfully completed all the construction works for the project and is currently implementing the commissioning and testing of equipment. Enter the network in trial operation is scheduled for the II quarter of 2011, a full-scale commercial operation is planned for the III quarter of 2011 the existing network capacity will be about 15,000 subscribers.

As part of an experimental zone TETRA network will be carried out testing of domestic equipment TETRA-GLONASS, which allows, together with the operational radio to provide services for monitoring moving objects and transmit navigation data via secure channels. One of the promising application equipment TETRA-GLONASS — implementation of government programs "112" and "ERA-GLONASS" aimed at improving the safety of life and support of domestic technologies and solutions.

On the basis of the TETRA network in a single info-communication space will be combined emergency services (Ministry of Emergency Situations and the police, fire service, service utilities, "Ambulance") and executive bodies of the region. There are plans to pair with the TETRA network control center of decision-making (TSUPR) Governor of Defense, which will ensure coordination between various departments of a single control center’s daily activities and in the aftermath of emergencies.

Also at the meeting of the Board were announced the company’s plans "Tetrasvyaz" to enhance the TETRA network in the Moscow region. By 2012, the Moscow region is planned to build 40 base stations. Thus, a professional radio will cover the entire territory of the region, and the capacity of the network will reach 25,000 subscribers. This will provide an operational radio including fire districts in the areas of flooding and at sites of special purpose suburbs.
