Transportation of containers by Trans-Siberian Railway in international traffic in 2011 increased by 27%

Volume shipments of large containers on the Trans-Siberian Railway in international traffic in 2011 amounted to 564 thousand TEUs, up by 27.3% more than in 2010, reported IA "rzhd-PARTNER" in the Coordinating Council on Transsiberian Transportation (CCTT ).

In particular, transit of 45.6 million TEUs, up 40.7% from a year earlier. Import — 279.1 thousand TEU (+20.8% in 2010) export — 239.3 thousand TEU (+33.4%). Including container trains transported 26.2 thousand, 130.4 thousand and 59 thousand TEUs respectively (total — 215.5 thousand TEUs).

Volume shipments of large containers by rail in the message Russia — China during January-December 2011 amounted to 339.8 million TEUs, an increase of 53% more than in 2010. The report Russia — Republic of Korea — 113.5 thousand TEU (+28%), Russia — Japan — 37.4 million TEU (+34%).
