Tu-134SH Chelyabinsk Higher Military Aviation Institute of Navigators

The first modification of the Tu-134 for the Armed Forces was teaching chart Tu-134SH. The aircraft was designed to replace the training machine of similar purpose Tu-124SH-1, which was being built by Kharkov Aviation Plant named after Lenin Komsomol.

From basic Tu-134 machine features reinforced construction wing and tail, which was explained by a large number of takeoffs and landings, compared with cars carrying passengers. In addition to enhanced sidewall fastened multiposition beam holders designed for suspension eight practical bombs caliber of from 50 to 250 kg. The aircraft allowed to make educational bombing using an optical sight mounted on the job of the navigator, and radar — with jobs cadets. In the passenger cabin equipped with 12 places with comfortable seating for students. The initial structure of navigation equipment matched supersonic bomber Tu-22. The machine is available in two basic versions: the Tu-134SH-1 radar "Ruby", for the preparation of long-distance navigators and naval aviation, operating Tu-22M and Tu-134SH-2 radar "Initiative-2" — for training navigators tactical aircraft .

 

 

The main consumers of 54 training machines based on the Tu-124 and 90 on the basis of the Tu-134 was the navigator’s school — Chelyabinsk and Voroshilovgradsky. Tu-Tu-124SH and 134SH trained cadets from the first to the third year of the 46th Training Regiment (van) in Voroshilovgrad until 1984, when the school was re-oriented to train navigators mainly for military transport aircraft. It transferred its machines Chelyabinsk, received from them in return for training navigators car based on the An-26. In the 108-m van Chelyabinsk school at the airport Shagol Tu-124SH used until the mid-1980s. In 1972, the hearth in Shadrinsk training regiment formed a second school on the Tu-124SH-1.
