JSC "VimpelCom" (TOR "Beeline Business") launched in Rostov-on-Don-based network of high-speed wireless technology WiMAX, said director of corporate business of the South and the North Caucasus region of Svetlana Kostritsyn. 

"Such a network we are building for corporate business. Through the WiMAX technology, we can quickly provide customers located in an area where there are no fixed networks, high-speed access services. It is possible to expand the network beyond the city, where the greatest concentration of major customers," — she said.

WiMAX network South and the North Caucasus region consists of base stations and subscriber terminals that provide wireless access to fixed-line — internet, local area networks based on IP VPN, voice, video conferencing, etc. Each base station transmits data at a distance of ten kilometers. The speed for the user is 25 Mbit / c.

Rostov WiMAX network is currently being tested in a number of companies. Commercial sales of WiMAX services in Rostov will begin in June. Kostritsyn did not specify how much was invested in Rostov a WiMAX, but noted that such projects pay for themselves in 8-12 months.

According to her, "VimpelCom" plans in 2013 to launch WiMAX network in other major cities of the South of Russia — Novorossiysk, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Sochi, Stavropol, Astrakhan, Volgograd and in Adygea. Construction of the network will begin in Grozny in 2013, as in other cities of the North Caucasus — in 2014.

"VimpelCom" began to build WiMAX network in the regions of the Russian Federation in 2012. In particular, they are deployed in the Far Eastern Federal District. Until the end of the first half of the year will be put into operation WiMAX in Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Omsk. In addition, in 2013 the network will be launched in seven cities and eight Volga — Ural. The works on networks in Central and North-Western regions.
