10 countries most vulnerable to climate change, weather and climate

British research company "Meplkroft" published index of vulnerability to climate change, which has identified 10 countries most at risk of climate change.

Almost all of these countries are developing, and 2/3 of them are in Africa. Reduction in the degree of country risk can be arranged as follows: Haiti, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, Madagascar, Cambodia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, the Philippines. In many of these countries have high population growth, with the majority living in poverty. The Company believes that Europe, the U.S., China any less susceptible to risks even at high levels of carbon dioxide emissions in their areas.

After the events of the last few years more and more extreme weather associated with global warming: droughts in Australia and Africa, floods in Pakistan and Central America, and fires in Russia and the United States.

The company analyzed data for 193 countries. Estimated exposure to risk in some weather events and disasters related to climate change. Also examined the ability of countries to cope with the consequences of these phenomena and disasters on the basis of good governance, infrastructure capacity and the availability of natural resources. The Company believes that the 10 selected countries most exposed to droughts, fires, cyclones and storms.
