The project to build a complex for the production of ammonia, methanol, granular urea and ammonium nitrate is implemented on the basis of the existing production facilities owned by JSC "Ammonium". The complex will include a combined unit of ammonia / methanol capacity of 717.5 thousand tons of ammonia (without methanol) per year, or 455 thousand tons of ammonia and 238 thousand tons of methanol, and the aggregate capacity of granular urea 717.5 thousand tons in year. The current production capacity of ammonium nitrate is projected to reach 450 thousand tons per year.

As reported by Director General of "Ammonium" Sergei Shevchenko, VEB will own a 20% stake in the new company, the remaining shares will Tatarstan. According S.Shevchenko, the payback period will depend on the price of products on the world market. Earlier it was planned that the new plant will pay for itself in 8 years, but now the prices are higher, and the project could pay off sooner. Prospective markets for urea will be the Middle East and Iran, as well as the Republic of Tatarstan. Methanol will be sent to the "Nizhnekamskneftekhim", ammonium nitrate — in the domestic market.

Complete construction of the plant is planned by the end of 2014, to begin the main industrial activity — in the I quarter of 2015, to reach full capacity — roughly in the IV quarter of 2015.

Customer object is JSC "Ammonium" general designer — "Soyuzhimproekt" general foreign contractor — a consortium of Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Sojitz Corporation and China National Chemical Engineering Corporation (CNCEC), as well as of "NIIK" (Research and Design Institute of urea and organic synthesis products, Dzerzhinsk) from the Russian side
