Yaroslavsky sudozavod launched the third sea diving vessel Uglich

Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant (YASZ) launched the third-sea diving vessel of SDS08 "Uglich" (building number 203).

The vessel was built for FSI "Gosmorspassluzhba" commissioned by the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport of the Russian Federation. "Uglich" will work as part of Novorossiysk control of rescue and underwater work. 

Techno-working project SDS08 was designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau, RKD and technical documentation — PKB "Petrobalt."

The combination of equipment installed on the vessel, as well as a powerful power plant, allow the ship to solve almost any specialized tasks associated with underwater maintenance work at depths up to 100 m 

In addition, the vessel can:

— extinguish fires in other ships with two air-foam fire monitors performance to 180 cubic meters per hour,

— function tug (aft-mounted anchor mooring and towing winch with a force of 7 tons)

— pump out water from the compartments of the vessel emergency,

— participate in operations to combat the oil spill.

Differences of this project is available from the operation of similar ships:

— The ship is diving equipment, allowing to carry out diving and underwater engineering work at depths up to 100 m and has no analogues in the existing courts at the disposal Gosmorspassluzhba Russia.

— Due to the presence of two air-foam fire monitors vessel has the ability to extinguish fires on other ships and plavobektov.

— The ship is towing winch, towing provides the functions.

— When placing booms and skimmer on board the ship will be able to provide the function of OSR.

— Characteristics of the vessel and the special equipment provide performance underwater rescue operations at sea state up to 3 points, with the approach of the vessel to the site of the rescue operation is possible at a height of waves up to 7 meters

— To provide the required driving performance on the ship is equipped with two high-speed main engine capacity of 442 kW each, working on the controllable pitch propeller, and also — to keep the ship above the place of work — provided bow thruster capacity of 120 kW.

— The presence on board of modern remotely operated underwater vehicle allows the inspection of the bottom waters, underwater hull and rudder-propeller device ships and underwater hydraulic structures at depths of up to 100 m

— For works to raise sunken ships, underwater ship repair, repair of hydraulic structures, and to provide rescue the equipment for underwater welding at depths up to 25 m and underwater cutting at depths up to 100 m, in addition, allows the ship lifting equipment to lift the individual fragments of sunken objects weighing up to 2 tons from a depth of 100 m

— With the participation in operations for removal of vessels from the shoal it is possible to pump out water from flooded compartments emergency vessel and purging pontoons.
