In front of me was a challenge to arrange storage of household goods, using the minimum quantity of furniture. It was the desire to make a new apartment as possible large, «air», not her closets and other «heavy» items.

Project. As a solution to one of the rooms you selected closet on the wall. And initially I aim was to make it so that it is harmoniously combined with the overall design of the room.

Therefore, when designing the wardrobe were selected following criteria:

• Facades from a natural tree with mirror;

• Hardware of high quality;

• effective use of the internal space of the cabinet (no falshstenok, double floors, hanging baskets, etc.).

I wanted to get a universal storage, functional and convenient in everyday use.

Cabinet dimensions: length — 3360 mm, height — 2760 mm, depth — 800 mm. Doors «eat» 70 mm deep, so pure depth is 730 mm, which is enough to accommodate almost any cabinet affairs.

The cabinet consists of three vertical sections and one narrow vertical section without shelves — for long items. One of the sections contains a built-in dresser.

This results in a «very personal» project, which carry furniture companies either refused or assigned disproportionately high price. Therefore, as in the case of the desk, which I did before, it was decided to implement the project on its own. Besides the work on the wardrobe coincided with the summer vacation of our 15-year-old son Dmitry, and he has been involved in it for the full program,


I chose for the cabinet:

Guides • and accessories for doors — from the system raumplus;

• facades — panels of an array of bras shirovannoy larch (width 135 mm, length 3000 mm, 12 mm thick) and reinforced the mirror;

• paints and varnishes — Sayerlack;

• for interior designs — furniture boards of pine 18 mm.

Internal filling cabinet. First, parts of the walls, trapped inside the cabinet, were plastered and covered with vinyl wallpaper for painting white space to be light and easy.

Then it was made the first section of the width of 880 mm, which includes a chest of drawers. To the right of it — the narrow vertical section width of 210 mm. Bearing walls are made of pine furniture boards width of 600 mm and length 2750 mm. That is on top left a gap of 10 mm that the tree has been able to «breathe».

For ceiling panels are attached with metal corners, and at the bottom — shkantami to 18 mm plywood, on which are stacked in the room plank flooring (inside the cabinet there are none). By the walls of the room panels and shelves are not fastened.

The number and arrangement of shelves chose to fit their needs. Taken into account at the same time that they should not be much, since an increase in the number of sections of reduced height, and it is at great depth, can create difficulties in using them.

Then, six boxes were made «chest.» Their height — 180 Width — 820 Depth — 600 mm. The gaps between the boxes on height — 15 mm. The total height of the chest of drawers — 1275 mm. He received a spacious and to the boxes were strong, their bottoms, as well as the walls, made of furniture boards.

Set the boxes on the roller guide 600 mm long with a load capacity of 60 kg. Runners chose detachable, so if you need a box can be completely removed from the chest. To make the surfaces maximum durability apply varnish in three layers. After the first layer of the surface polished to remove the rising pile. After the second layer polishing repeated, but finer sandpaper to impart surface smoothness. And after the third layer induces a final gloss sponge Scotch-Brite. Facades. When all the elements are ready to fill the cabinet, I had gathered and started manufacturing facades. To mark the perimeter of the opening and align on which was supposed to fix the guide sliding doors, I used the bars section 50×80 mm. On the sides and bottom placed one by one, but the top — two bars. This is due to the fact that the headlining «eat» about 40 mm, plus a drop height of the ceiling at different wall is about 10 mm. Since the width of the doors was chosen for reasons of symmetry, in the fabric do not put a whole number of panels. Therefore, it is of them had to be customized in width, and they have to get a little rest. The sequence of operations was:

• fully assembled doors frames of the profiles and check their installation dimensions;

• Place the frame on the floor and had dismantled one vertical bar;

• sliced ​​panel of desired length, then on the sides that went into the grooves of profiles cutter picked quarter;

• panel inserted into the frame by tapping with a hammer through a wooden block is one, then the other end;

Painting of fronts follows. First, all the wooden surfaces are treated with light brown stain. Then coated with a primer layer of a diluted paint (water-based one-component).
