YUGOSLAVIA’S CAPACITY to sustain and counter NATO’s attacks on its territory should not be under-estimated. The country still has a large, well-equipped army and a highly-trained air force, which also includes an extensive air defence system of aircraft, surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) and anti-aircraft artillery (AAA). Whilst its aircraft could quickly prove to be vulnerable to NATO attacks, the combination of uniquely rugged geography, SAM and AAA mobility will make it very difficult to render the skies of Yugoslavia safe for Allied air operations in the short term. The air defence fighter force is entirely Russian-equipped, with around 14 MiG-29 Fulcrums

Marius Janse van Rensburg and Bazil Raubach are two of the photographers who covered the all drama productions of this year’s National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. We were able to interview Marius in person and consult Bazil through the wonders of modern technology.
PiX: That sounds like a wonderful assignment, how long have you guys been photographing the National Arts Festival? Bazil: I have been personally shooting for the Festival for the last couple of years as an official festival photographer. We supply images for the media office for use in press releases, their blog sites, newspapers and magazine usage.

The Avro Ashton fleet was clearly «built for purpose», the aircraft performing every single test or trial with minimum fuss and excellent reliability. At least one complete Ashton deserved to have been displayed along with the many other research aircraft that grace the RAF Museum at Cosford today.
Five Ashtons were withdrawn from use between 1959 and mid-1962, beginning with the prototype WB490, which was allocated for cabin pressure test duties at Woodford on September 9, 1959. This short-lived secondary duty came to end on December 21, 1959, when the aircraft was sold to the specialist aircraft scrap company R.J.

MY HUSBAND WANTS AN EXTRA-LARGE FLATSCREEN TV, BUT I’M WORRIED IT WILL DOMINATE OUR TINY LIVING AREA. DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE TO KEEP THE
A huge TV screen can be too «in-your-face», if what you want is a cosy, art-filled space. Create a feature wall that the TV screen will blend into. Start by using darker wall hues — grey or wood tones go well with black TV screens. Incorporate the TV screen into a wall of stylish bookshelves with a console below to hold set-top boxes, remote controls, DVDs and other electronic gadgets.
As your living area is

Adding colour to your home is one of the easiest ways to inject your personality into your surroundings and to influence the mood of any space. But, it can be difficult to balance out a large amount of very bold color and this is where the use of accent colours can open a whole new window on your decor world. Usually first noticed as a small swelling, often reddened, at the base of the foot.
It can show up as a pea-size swelling of the web of skin between the toes or a large raised area on the bottom of the foot, often with a scab area in the centre. The bird may limp, or frequently rest one foot. The foot will become hot to the touch and look visibly inflamed. If left untreated it can grow considerably, distort the toes, become filled with pus and may eventually kill the bird if the infection within the foot causes a

How long is the longest dildo, and how short is the shortest dipstick? We pit her favorite battery-operated toys with seasoned manoy. Someone else has to decide who wins, through…
Two things pretend-penises don’t cover in the length and girth departments: 1. They don’t have optional flaccid modes; 2. And—not counting dildos packaged as “first timer” toys (5.5” by 1.5”)—they don’t make them small. On average, they’re a clean 6 to 8 inches (excluding grip/suction base), and at their commercially available longest, can run the stretch of 11.5 to 12 inches with 1.5-to 2.5-inch girths (long whilst unproportional

The brides team visits some of the world’s most beautiful love nests, because who doesn’t love a treehouse?
The best thing about travel? I can let you become a child again. That’s what happened as we arrived Harad’s The Treehotel by night, guided along an atmospherically lit, winding pathway, where the outlines of silver birch trees were just visible against a moonlit sky. The Treehotel, part-hotel, part-art-project, needs to be seen to be believed: it consists of five treehouses (The Gabin, Mirrorcube, Bird’s Nest, UFO and Blue Cone), which are private but close enough to let

You’d think it would take an awful lot to threaten a 19-year-long friendship, but for Johannesburg assistant events coordinator Balelwa*, 24, and her copywriter BFF and flatmate, Busi, 25, it took just a few words from Busi in defence of the new guy in her life. Balelwa didn’t trust him. Just as the friends always had, she voiced her misgivings. And Busi responded: ‘You don’t trust him because he’s coloured.’
ME? PREJUDICED? NEVER!
‘She basically called me a racist!’ recalls Balelwa. ‘She knows I went to inter-racial schools. After school I took a gap year with her, and I dated

With a huge choice of entry- to mid-level DSLRs currently on the market I’m often skeptical about any manufacturer’s claims, but can the new 700D from Canon really stand out in a crowd?
Admittedly having seen and used so many cameras throughout my career I’m rarely impressed by much these days, other than actual results. The 700D is aimed as an entry-level camera but I wanted to put it to the test throughout my working week, piggybacking my 5D Mark II, not to test it in comparison with, but it’s just the best way for me to gauge it as
