OF ALL THE ROLES examined in this series, that of the tactical helicopter has the most recent operational introduction, having a history of less than 40 years. Like a number of the other roles, this arose as a secondary consideration to the original concept for the operational employment of the helicopter. Fleetlands To Fix Chinook HC.3s ?

IT WAS labelled by the Chairman of the Commons Public Accounts Committee in 2003… «one of the most incompetent procurements of all time».

These eight Chinook HC.3 transport helicopters have never been cleared for service, and have been kept in storage at Boscombe Down, Wiltshire, ever since delivery.

Ordered in 1995, the HC.3 aircraft were conceived as dedicated special forces helicopters, built to a unique standard, with a hybrid digital/ analogue cockpit. Australia takes delivery of two helicopters CH-47D Chinook

Australian Defence Minister Stephen Smith and Defence Minister, Jason Clare, announced that two additional helicopters CH-47D Chinook were transferred to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in Townsville. BOEING CH-47F CHINOOK INDIAN WINS TENDER

The next order in the knapsack «Boeing». Indias Defense Minister confirmed the choice of Boeing won the tender for the supply of languid transport helicopters

As part of the Indian Air Force tender for the supply of 15 transport helicopters languid company "Boeing" with CH-47F «Chinook" setting the desired candidate who submitted the best offer.

Mi-26 lost in the South American Chinook Indian tender

Russian multi-purpose transport helicopter E-26T2 lost to South American Boeing CH-47F Chinook Indian Air Force in the tender. As reported by The Times of India quoted a source in the Indian Defense Ministry, both helicopters were rich program from trials in India, but the U.S. has offered the lowest price treaty than our homeland.

India will buy South American helicopters Chinook, and not Russian Mi-26

India wants to buy 15 Chinook transport helicopters languid made in the USA, the final price of the contract will be determined later in the negotiations, reported on Wednesday a website Indian Defense Ministry.

Petrobras found a leak of hydraulic fluid in the Gulf of Mexico

Brazilian oil giant Petrobras found a small leak of hydraulic fluid during commissioning of the system in the field of underwater Chinook (Chinook) in the Gulf of Mexico, has reported Dow Jones.

The fluid was diluted with no harm to the environment and people, said the company. Petrobras did not say how much of the leak in question.

The company informed the U.S. authorities about the incident, and also created an internal committee to investigate the causes of the incident.

Petrobras is the operator of the field and the nearby Cascade Project (Cascade), where mining was started earlier this year.
