WE HAVENT HAD THIS MUCH FUN IN A LONG TIME. THANKS JINRI PARK.

Two words: Nongshim noodles.

This is not an endorsement. We’re just trying to junk a cliche by substituting something else. And here’s how the old trick goes: we find a woman from another country, of some exotic mix or ethnicity, and we scramble for a kind of food or drink so obviously from their place of origin as metaphor for what they are. So Russian women are like vodka. Korean women are—forgive us for even thinking we were so clever—hotter than kimchi.

So no, Jinri Park is not fermented cabbage. She is Nongshim noodles, those flaming packs of processed ramen

PHOTO INSIGHT

Andrew Sanderson reveals how shooting with film allowed him to recover a blown-out sky in this landscape photograph.

this shot is called ‘The dip’. It was taken in the late 1990s in Meltham, West Yorkshire. I was out on a walk that day, exploring the local area where I had recently bought a house. Meltham is a small town and you don’t have to walk far before you are in open farming country. I wandered up Mil Moor Road and soon found myself at Leygards Lane, looking south-west. I set up my camera on a tripod, and decided on a

Bowens Gemini 400Rx Kit

To relieve the transportation issues that I’ve been experiencing with the large size of the kit bag and the lack of rolling wheels, i have resorted to stashing the contents of the kit in a rolling luggage bag. This is less than ideal as it doesn’t offer the same cushioning or protection as the Bowens carry pack provides, but does allow me to transport the kit from home to my shooting locations easily. Having used the kit for a few months, I can now set it up in under a couple of minutes and there’s barely

AF-S NIKKOR 800MM F5.6E FL ED VR SUPER TELE PHOTO

Nikon’s new autofocus 800mm super tele embodies a lot of current lens technology to enhance both its performance and handling. Report by Paul Burrows.

Super tele photos don’t come up for testing all that often, firstly because they’re fairly specialized and secondly because just about every example that rolls off the production line already has somebody’s name on it. We’ve seen a few over the decades, but basically they’re a rarity and, if ever made available for evaluation, usually come with conditions… in this case, having just a day to

Learn to shoot long exposition

Follow our in-depth guide and capture movement in the land, sea, sky and people by slowing your shutter speed…

The exposure of a scene is determined by three different elements — the aperture (the size of the lens opening through which light passes), the shutter speed (the time that the image sensor is exposed to this light) and the ISO (the sensitivity of the sensor). You need to balance all three together in order to capture a ‘good’ exposure, in which the important parts of an image are neither too dark (underexposed) or too bright (overexposed).

Most of the time,

In the long run, your value-selling strategy will help you climb out of the price-only sinkhole.

Price-only customers like Sergio Lins can be brutal. But Bosi e Faora shouldn’t abandon solutions selling, no matter how daunting the path forward might be.

Many U.S. medical device companies face similar pricing battles. In the old days, a salesperson simply told the medical director that prices would rise, say, 5% next year. The physician typically did not argue, because he knew the sales rep well and trusted the products. This type of “relationship selling” was routine.

But the Affordable Care Act and the smaller reform initiatives that preceded it have ushered in the practice of measuring costs against health

HONDA NC700X

Without a doubt, I’ve been a titch hard on the NC700X in my care. Not as in failing to take care of it or abusing it physically—as though you could abuse a motorcycle mentally—but in the way I’ve framed its performance capabilities. Bottom line: This is a crossover kind of bike, designed with a few key points in mind, including superb fuel economy, ease of operation, and the ability to take great care with riders fresh from the MSF course. That means it’s not a fire-breathing beast, and definitely not something to keep experienced riders jonesing for more.

No, it’s

AFTER HUNTING FOR A LONG TIME, I HAVE FINALLY BOUGHT MY DREAM HOME. I ALWAYS WANTED A HOME WITH LARGE BEDROOMS, BUT MOST OF ALL A VERY LARGE MASTER BEDROOM, WHERE I COULD READ AND ENJOY LEISURE TIME. HOWEVER, NOW THAT WE HAVE THE HOME OF OUR DREAMS, I AM LOST AS TO HOW TO FILL SPACE HERE, AND HOW TO DESIGN IT TO THE BEST UTILITY POSSIBLE AS I AM AGAINST WASTING SPACE. HOWEVER, I DO NOT WANT TO GIVE IT AN OVERFULL OR EVEN AN UNDER UTILISED LOOK. PLEASE ADVISE.

I shall enjoy answering this, as my favourite space to design in a home is the master bedroom. This is because, we tend to spend most of our time at home here when sleeping, lounging, or unwell. It is also viewed with a very narrow approach, which is why I so enjoy breaking the mould. We need to change the way we look at a bedroom. A bedroom cannot be looked at as a one bed. side table room to sleep at night alone. It needs to act as a lounge, an area where one can unwind: read; watch television;
