Voyager cruises final region before leaving the Solar System

The legendary NASA spacecraft enters ‘magnetic highway’

At around 18 billion kilometres (11 billion miles) from Earth, Voyager 1 is the furthest man-made object from

Earth and has been for some time.

It’s also set to become the first manmade object to leave the Solar System, as it enters a region at the outer boundary known as the magnetic highway, a smooth lane along which charged particles can travel, which scientists are only now able to investigate properly.

“This strange, last region before interstellar space is coming into focus, thanks to Voyager 1,” said Voyager project scientist Ed Stone. “If

This detective story began a year ago when, in August 1989, the automatic interplanetary station "Voyager 2", launched in 1977, started with a distance of 2.75 billion miles transmit to Earth the first ever photographs of the planet Neptune, shot at close range. For scientists from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., which communicate with the "Voyager", the pictures were full of surprises. First, the color of the planet — a

One of the rings of Saturn is illuminated and off in strange ways

One of the rings of Saturn is illuminated and off in strange ways. When "Voyager 1" visited the planet in 1980, the ring was dim, but it occasionally flashed bright spots. By the time when the place came "Cassini" (in 2004), the spots are gone, but the brightness of the rings has doubled.

Something collided with the ring F (photo taken apparatus "Cassini in 2009).

The first F-ring discovered the "Pioneer 11" in 1979. While the larger part of the inner rings have a clear edge, the ring F — the outermost of the key — consists

Voyager flew to the magnetic foam

Interplanetary probes Voyager, going beyond the solar system, flew in a strange area. Giant magnetic bubbles here to repel the attacks of interstellar cosmic rays.

Spacecraft Voyager, launched to the outer Solar System, scientists continue to present new surprises. Communication with the first and second unit still maintained, and the analysis of incoming data allows us to study the properties of the outer limits of the solar system and the interstellar medium.

Like the Earth, the Sun has a north and south magnetic poles. The magnetic field lines penetrate the solar system and stretched by the solar wind.

NASA believes magnitnyk bubbles at the edge of the solar system

June 7, 2011 — the edge of our solar system is filled with magnetic bubbles, according to new research NASA. Scientists made the discovery by using a new computer model, which is based on data from NASA's "Voyager probes." Unmanned Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, which began in 1977, cruising the outer limits of our solar system, in a region known as the heliosheath. The new discovery suggests that researchers need to reconsider their ideas about the region in the solar system. For more images of this area is the key to our understanding of how fast-moving particles known as

At the edge of the solar system discovered something

Voyager 1 spacecraft can not leave the solar system.

It appears, on the border of the solar system and deep space there is a kind of customs. Where the magnetic field lines generated by the sun and the presence in the solar wind undergo reconnection with the field lines of the magnetic field of the interstellar medium. This became known as information received from the probe Voyager 1, which so far they can not leave the solar system.

Now a veteran of space research launched in 1977 by the American apparatus Voyager 1, is close to the edge

Voyager 1 leaves the solar system

December 7, 2011 11:58

NASA interplanetary automatic probe "Voyager 1" flight which lasted 34 years, went into the hitherto unknown to scientists in the area within the outer boundaries of our solar system — the heliopause, where the flying of our star solar wind meets the interstellar medium. The new zone is a kind of cosmic goo, where speed flying from the Sun of charged particles (solar wind) fell to a minimum, the particles themselves seep into space, and the magnetic field under the influence of external pressure superimposed on each other.

Everything speaks in favor of the "Voyager 1"

The first man-made object leaves the Solar System: New evidence

Obtained new evidence the fact that the spacecraft Voyager 1 is out in deep space, the newspaper The Daily Mail. This is the first man-made object, leaving the limits of our solar system.

Previously, NASA declared that the border crossing the solar system should be the most significant achievement in space exploration, and now observers point out that this has happened. If these data are correct, they indicate the beginning of a new era of interstellar studies.

NASA scientists have named the three main indication that

For scientists from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., which communicate with the "Voyager", the pictures were full of surprises. First, the color of the planet — is bright blue with white patches of clouds.

Secondly, a large angle of the axis of rotation of the planet, indicating a strong magnetic field, large amounts of internal heat and a
