VVA-14 (Vertical amphibious flying up, later changed to an aerodynamic 14M1P) — Russian pilot apparatus (Seaplane bomber and torpedo bomber), design by Robert Bartini, Russian aircraft designer of Italian origin. Created as apparatus, having the opportunity to soar and land on water, and how ordinary aircraft, and the aircraft vertical takeoff and landing. Created: September 4, 1972. Because of the difficulties in developing the necessary engines for vertical take-off was held last modification (14M1P) — to turn the device into an aerodynamic (1976).
All that remains of the unique aircraft VVA-14.
VVA-14 was the result of many years of research Bartini — "The theory of intercontinental transport of the Earth", which was completed in 60 years, but was not placed, like many of his works. Krnspektivno in this work from the perspective of a global assessment of the Earth, as the object of transport operations Bartini for ships, planes and helicopters has made the analysis of interdependencies Walawe performance (the product of the payload on the speed of delivery), the weather (the ratio of operating time of one year to the duration of the year) and the male surface (the ratio of the surface where vehicles can stop the machine to perform the loading and unloading, for total surface of the Earth).
