Jadran Naftagas starts drilling the first oil well in Serbia

The joint venture "Jadran Naftagas" established a subsidiary of "Zarubezhneft" — "Neftegazinkor" and a subsidiary of "Gazprom oil" — "Petroleum Industry of Serbia» (Naftne Industrije Srbije, NIS). Registered in December 2010, with the stakes: NIS — 66%, "NeftegazInKor" — 34%.

In 2011, the joint venture "Jadran Naftagas" signed with the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska, the concession for 28 years to explore and develop oil and gas fields.

Performed during 2010-2012, working it possible to prepare for drilling in 2013 promising structures Obudovats (Posavina sub-basin) and A1 (Sember sub-basin).

The first well will be drilled Obudovats-2 Obudovats structure in the sub-Posavina. After completion of drilling Obudovats-2 will be conducted drilling a second well on the A-1 in the sub-Sember. In 2013, will also be continued seismic survey in the sub Przhdol of 400 linear km 

According to the press in connection with the start of drilling Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska Zeljko Kovacevic, this project will provide energy security and stability in the Republic, will help improve the country's geo-strategic position and increase revenue in the budgets of the Republic of Serbian and related assets.
