A year ago at TSU was established one of the first supercomputer research and educational centers of Russia — REC "SKT-Siberia". In front of him, as well as to other centers — participants in the project to create a supercomputer system of education in Russia, there are global problems. What is this problem and how they are solved, said Vice President for Information TSU Vladimir DEMKIN.
Prepare for 2015 of 15,000 professionals in the field of supercomputing technology — the task set by President Dmitry Medvedev to the founders of ACT in Russia. This project was proposed by the Moscow University. MV University after the meeting of the Commission for Modernisation and Technological Development of Russia in Sarov. He became one of the most important projects in the framework of the priorities of the Russian economy.
The base lies a long time
In stock at higher education institutions have been significant developments in the field of supercomputing technology. In TSU in 1958 was established the Department of Computational Mathematics, which determined the development of computer technology and parallel computing techniques themselves. In 2001, the University became the site for the first computing cluster. After a few years at TSU appeared supercomputer SKIF Cyberia, this year it is upgraded. And now our SKIF is one of the most powerful, not only in Russia but also in the world. Today, he is a TOP-500 most powerful supercomputers in the world, ranked 10th in the list of TOP-50 of the countries of the CIS and the third largest university supercomputers CIS countries.
— The project involves the creation of an integrated system of education in the Russian supercomputer, — said V. DEMKIN — and by the universities faced with the task to create a sustainable system of staffing priorities of the high-tech sectors of the economy for the regions of Russia.
So, in the framework of this project on the basis of universities — members of the Russian supercomputer consortium of universities was established seven research and education centers in federal districts: "SKT-Center", "ACT-Southern Urals", "SKT-Volga", "SKT-Seve- ro-West "," SKT-Siberia "," SKT-Far East "," SKT-South ". Were the first institutions of higher learning — the founders of the supercomputer consortium, among them was our "SKT-Siberia".
Looking for new programs
One of the important tasks for NOTsa — development of a new model of education, based on a multidisciplinary approach, continuity of multi-level educational programs, networking, links universities, industry, and academic institutions. Participants in the project created a new "body of knowledge" in the field of supercomputing technology, formulated proposals to expand the educational standards.
This year the program was launched a large-scale training in these structures. Each university has its own scientific schools and, perhaps, find high school, successfully developing in all directions, is unrealistic. That is why in Siberia went towards the creation of a network of educational program with a modular structure.
Integrated network program includes a base and variable parts, and the credit for it will be taken into account in all institutions — participants of the program. Discipline the student can learn anywhere you like, even remotely, greatly simplifies and speeds up the learning process.
— I think that this is the right approach to educational activities, including the crucial question of academic mobility — says VP DEMKIN.
Of course, in the development of educational programs in the ACT, given the dynamics of the industry, also has its own problems, but their solution is also within the competence of the new NOTsev. Their activities are aimed at addressing the key challenges posed to the participants of the project by the state: to train personnel in the field of SCT for the innovation economy. This task is one of those "super", because to have that number of highly qualified specialists only through additional education programs can not — here, fundamental knowledge.
We will establish cooperation
There is another problem — whether the economy is a real need for innovative professionals in the field of SCT, and in which sectors of industry, business and government, they will be in demand? To do this, you need to engage with representatives of these structures — among the tasks REC "SKT-Siberia" is this one. For example, the "SKT-Siberia" conducts workshops in which members of the Research and Education Center will present their training opportunities in the field of SKT representatives of industrial enterprises, businesses, and government agencies, so that they can understand what the real use from them may be at work .
But whether there will be such experts on specific demand, and most importantly, when — time will tell.

In the Kemerovo State University launched a program of initial training undergraduates supercomputing technologies
24 of a student of 1st year students, Faculty of Mathematics KemSU will be trained under the Agreement on Cooperation with the Tomsk State University, participating in the project of the President of the Commission of the Russian Federation on modernization and technological development of the Russian economy "Creating a system for training of highly qualified personnel in the field of supercomputing technology and specialized software security. "
Kemerovo State University has a high-performance computing cluster, performance, 1.5 TFlops. A cluster is a multi-processor computer system with distributed and shared-memory systems for its effective use requires the use of appropriate technology programming.
As part of the educational program implemented by competent teachers will tell young scientists of the modern classification of supercomputers, and acquaint them with the technologies of parallel programming, and demonstrate the effectiveness of parallel programs on a supercomputer.
In order to graduate students were able in future to work directly on the cluster and provides practical exercises.
As part of the training program is planned lectures of foreign scientists in the videoconference.
After completion of the training and qualification of masters protection will receive a Certificate of successful completion of the educational program.
Altai State University became a full member of the "Supercomputer Education"
In the world rankings in 2007 he won a place among the 150 most powerful computers in the world and 1st among CIS supercomputers. After the introduction of the second phase in September 2011, computing power has increased more than fivefold. With the help of this "miracle machine" can solve the most complex problems. And now the Altai State University became a full member of the Commission's draft of the President of the Russian Federation on modernization and technological development of the Russian economy "Creation of the training of highly qualified personnel in the field of supercomputing technology (ACT), and specialized software."
Seventh day of November began trainin
g teachers training program "Fundamentals of supercomputer technologies." Four teachers of physical, technical and mathematical faculties improve their skills in order to provide training to students and undergraduates, which would lead to direct work with the supercomputer. They complete their training performance of practical work on the supercomputer SKIF Cyberia TSU capacity of 62 TFlops. Education full time, with the use of distance technologies.
