Unique IDAS (Interactive Defence and Attack System for Submarines) will allow to close the gap in the defense of present submarines. Rocket IDAS will allow to kill unsafe, and time previously invulnerable submarine, air attacks. The optimization that will allow subsonic missiles hit leisurely purposes, such as anti-submarine helicopters, which own over-vulnerability during flights on small elevations with sonar released. In the transport and launch container includes four missiles IDAS. The container is placed in a standard torpedo tube. After the start of it, rocket pierces the water column and soars above its surface, turning the wings and launching rocket engine.
Creators IDAS were able to solve the main problem of — operation of the power plant in different environments. During the test, rocket showed very stable operation of their own engines, high-spirited acceleration to subsonic speed at the firing range of up to 20 km. Another problem — is the preservation of the fiber-optic link to control the missile at the point of exit from the water. First considered the possibility of introducing an infrared seeker stand-alone type, but Fibre Channel is more reliable and accurate shooting, allowing the identification of objectives and tactical situation assessment. But does not exclude the use of other systems, such as passive sonar Underwater boat which will determine the helicopters, localizing the ripple effect of their propellers.
The adoption of anti-aircraft missile submarines change the balance of naval forces. Hitherto, submarines have been only a conditional protection against air of danger — greater depth or more man-portable air defense systems.
