Biblical flood was, — says the archaeologist who discovered the Titanic

The story of Noah's Ark and the Biblical Flood is known to everyone, but most people believe that it is a myth. However, Robert Ballard, famous underwater archaeologist believes to have found evidence that this story is based on real events.

Robert Ballard, professor of oceanography and underwater archaeologist, famous for its outstanding discoveries: in 1985 he discovered the wreckage of the liner "Titanic" with the devices on the remote control.

Ballard now uses a more advanced technology to make travel to the distant past. Underwater archaeologist intends to prove that the Biblical flood, or its equivalent, in fact, occurred.

"12,000 years ago, much of the world was covered in ice. Where I live now, in the state of Connecticut, was just a big ice cube. But then the glaciers began to melt, leading to increased levels of the oceans. We wondered — if it was the is the deluge? "- says Professor oceanography.

According to a controversial theory put forward by the two Swiss scientists, the Black Sea was once an isolated freshwater lake surrounded by farmland, but the melting of glaciers Mediterranean struck fertile ground with a force of two hundred times the power of Niagara Falls, and buried in the depths of all living things.

"We went to the Black Sea and, using unmanned robots, found at a depth of 400 feet (122 meters), the ancient shoreline. Having radiocarbon analysis, we concluded that the disaster occurred more than 5,000 years ago. Moreover, we found the remains of shellfish which ceased to exist 7000 years ago "- describes the findings of the research team Ballard.

Many scientists and archaeologists have reacted with skepticism as to the expedition itself, and to its results. But this did not dampen the ardor of the underwater archaeologist, who returned to the waters of the Black Sea.

"We focused on the search for structures that resemble artificial structures made by humans. Initially, our remote devices found piles of pottery, but then we came across a well-preserved material resembling wood. Peering closely, we realized that we face the remnants of the femur.

Also, we have found the remains of an ancient shipwreck. All of these items are perfectly preserved by the fact that the waters of the Black Sea is almost no oxygen, and therefore the process of decay slows considerably. I do not think I can find Noah's Ark, but must prove — Flood was actually. We will return to the place of our research to find the sunken remains of the village and its residents, "- said Robert Ballard.
