More than 140 forest fires are in Russia — FFA

Number of forest fires in Russia one day fell from 144 to 141 of the hearth, the most complex situation remains in Siberia and the Far East, according to the FFA.

According to authorities, over the past day by fire covered 9.4 thousand hectares, including 7,000 hectares of forest area, on the forest lands of Russia eliminated 120 forest fires, including the five largest.

"As of Thursday morning, in Russia there are 141 forest fires, including 140 fires on forest land, one fire on lands of specially protected areas (Buryatia)," — said in a statement.

It clarifies the agency, the largest number of fires recorded in the forests of Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk region and Tuva.

"In order to stabilize the forest fire situation introduced a state of emergency in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District and Tuva, as well as in ten districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in five areas of the Amur region, in two areas of the Transbaikal, one region of Yakutia, in one area of Sakhalin" — said in the message.

In extinguishing fires involving more than three thousand people, 447 pieces of fire equipment and 81 aircraft.

The main cause of fires remain selhozpaly, careless handling of fire and dry thunderstorms.
