In orphanages, children's homes, boarding schools, children's homes of family type, children's village is arranged in 2009, 1,059 children, 2,654 children have adopted or are arranged in a guardianship and foster care.

Transfer program for orphans from orphanages to foster families we asked to comment on the socio-director of the private educational institutions SOS «Children's Village" in Borovlyany Valeria Michalevic.

MichalevicAll residential care facilities generate relationships that are typical for the family. The motto of our public institutions SOS «Children's Village": "Every child — family." Although we have a family and a surrogate, but there is a mother-educator, there is not that a succession of teachers who are changing during the day. Child has a relationship with only one person.
In late 2007, the President visited us at the celebration of the New Year, a protocol instructions to boarding system to gradually shut down and orphans were brought up in an environment close to family.

Drakakhrust: Is there such an international experience, as done in other countries, or is it the Belarusian know-how?

MichalevicNo, this is not the Belarusian know-how. We belong to an association of SOS Kinderdorf International — the international social movement, which was founded in 1949 Herman Gmayner. Now this movement involved 131 state and villages such as ours, 500. 3 of them — in Belarus. The state children's villages are also under construction.

Drakakhrust: And what money will be worth the transition from the dorms? And where to get the footage?

Michalevic: We live on the money of good people. These projects are worth half a million euros. As for the state children's villages, then I do not know exactly what the price of these villages.
As for the training, we have established a system of training which has a length of one and a half years. It was only after this training, students receive the status of the mother-educators.

State training in this area is 32 hours. Current training is only 5 years old.
