STX France confirmed the agreement to participate in the construction of the Baltic Plant Mistral

Leading experts of the French company STX France have confirmed the technical compliance of St.-Petersburg company "Baltic Shipyard — Shipbuilding" / CES / for partial construction of helicopter type "Mistral". 

Following the visit to St. Petersburg experts who have studied the production possibilities CES, confirmed that the shipyard meets the necessary technical and technological level and the level of training of personnel for the construction of floating body parts floating helicopter landing ships, docks / DVKD / type "Mistral".

The French side has transferred CES final statement of the order of metal, and now have begun bidding procedures to select a supplier of metal to the plant.

The transfer of working papers on the project is planned for CES to June 1, the beginning of metal cutting for the first "Mistral" — August 1, 2012. Laying of the first ship is scheduled for October 1. Metal for the second "Mistral" will be cut in May 2013, when the same procedure is completed on the first ship.

The contract for the supply of two DVKD "Mistral" for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was signed between "Rosoboronexport" and the French company DCNS in June 2011. In turn, USC attracted to this deal as a subcontractor: it is building 24 housing unit / aft part of both ships /, which is 40 percent of their cases. The blocks will be sent to France, where the shipyards of Saint-Nazaire will complete assembly of helicopter.

Universal helicopter carrier "Mistral" is able to perform four tasks at once: take helicopters airlifted to land military units, to be the center of command and floating hospital. Its displacement is 21 tons, hull length — 210 m, speed — up to 18 knots, range — up to 20,000 miles. Number of crew of 160 people, in addition helicopter can carry 450 people. Air group includes 16 helicopters, six of which can be simultaneously placed on the flight deck. Cargo ship deck can accommodate more than 40 tanks and 70 vehicles.

CPB is at USC. The company was founded in late 2011 for the salvation of labor and manufacturing competencies "Baltic Shipyard", which was brought to the bankruptcy of the previous owner.
