Advanced military research agency will be created in Russia

The Russian government will soon introduce the two houses of parliament a bill to create the country's Agency for the development of advanced defense technology industry. This statement was February 15, 2012, Vice Premier Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees the military-industrial complex, said.

 

"We planned the legal basis of the bill and soon'll add them to the Houses of Parliament," — said Deputy Prime Minister.

 

According to Rogozin, the new agency will be similar to the U.S. DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). One of the main tasks of DARPA, in particular, are providing the technological superiority of military industry in the U.S. and other countries over the financing of promising military developments.

 

During his speech to the students of Bauman Rogozin also promised through the creation of a new agency to solve the employment problems of students of technical colleges in the defense industry and providing young workers a decent wage.

 

Earlier, Rogozin took the initiative to create a special laboratory in Russia, whose tasks will include comparative tests of domestic and foreign models of arms and military equipment.

 

According to the vice-premier in the first place, such a laboratory should focus on protecting the interests of the Russian military-industrial complex.
