Aftershocks following a major earthquake felt residents Amur

Residents of the northern regions of the Amur region after a strong earthquake that occurred on October 14, again felt the tremors, according to different seismic vibration magnitude ranged from 4.2 to 4.7, no destruction, told RIA Novosti the head of the press service of the regional emergency department Raisa Kopyrin .

Earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred on October 14 at the border and Skovorodinsky Tynda areas at a depth of 13 kilometers. The epicenter was 760 kilometers north-west of the village of Talakan Bureya district and 25 kilometers north-west of Solov'ev Tynda district. Tremors felt the people of almost all districts.

"Repeated oscillations of the earth's crust, called aftershocks are usually far less power than the main seismic shock. They are not dangerous and can last for days. Preliminary data aftershocks have not caused damage. Us all, that among the people there was no panic," — said companion.

According to RIA Novosti deputy chief engineer Bureya HPP Basil Tatarnikov, in hydro shocks were insignificant force. All hydropower facilities are operating normally.
