Area of forest fires in Siberia fell by a third — to 16.3 thousand hectares

Forest conservation service in Siberia for the past day eliminated the 35 new and previously existing forest fires in the area of almost 16.7 thousand hectares, currently the district registered 74 focus on an area of 16.3 thousand hectares, according to the District Department of Forestry.

"The Siberian Federal District operates 74 forest fires in the area of 16.284 hectares. Fires are on forest land in Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tomsk and Irkutsk regions, the Republic of Tuva," — said in a statement.

Monday morning in the district there were 75 forest fires in the area of 24.4 hectares.

In the Krasnoyarsk region over the past day managed to eliminate 25 forest fires in the area of almost 15,000 hectares, including ten large area of over 12,000 hectares. At present, according to the department, in the Region reported 53 forest fires in the area of 10.9 hectares. All fires are still in the air, rugged area of the northern districts.

On fighting forest fires in the province in 1441 involved people, 115 units of fire equipment, 16 aircraft. This number of 352 workers of fire-paratrooper parachutist FBU "Avialesookhrana" sent from other regions.
