Dolmen construction technology, scientists have mastered the Sochi

In the perennial debate about the origin of the Caucasian megaliths probably placed bullet. Sochi group of scientists conducted a unique experiment, which destroyed the last doubts as to who is still building these mysterious structures.
The question — how to build a dolmen — Bronze Age people would answer yes, in general, is simple. Most importantly, the availability of free time, a pair of primitive tools and patience. Until now, all the talk about the technology of construction of dolmens were only theoretical. Some archaeologists have argued that the construction of one such effort is required megalith 200 people and several years of hard work. Other "theorists" general pipe with one voice, what can be cut only by alien laser. But go and prove it in practice no one dared.

In order to understand how it was built, we must fix the traces left from the processing of stone.

Duration — Monday November 26. Location — the village Volkonka Lazarevsky district. Here is also a mysterious stone sarcophagus purpose we do not know, as well as an interesting group of tile dolmens. The goal of the experiment — to split the boulder into 2 equal parts and try different primitive tools on a stone surface.
With simple bronze tools our ancestors built these imposing structures. While some pseudo-scientists still attribute their construction extraterrestrial civilizations. It's very simple, take a fern stem and draw a straight line, then hollow out holes 2 cm in depth and gradually driven into their bronze plate. Long-term observations of the Sochi prompted scientists to think that the issue is not even in the instruments of labor, and the density of the sand. But with one stone would have to tinker for a long time, and the other took only 10 minutes.

In today's experiment, suddenly we were used minimal force. This stone is from the same sandstone from which the built this dolmen.

It was found that even a stone ax from diabase fine cuts sandstone. This gives us a chance to push the time frame for the construction of dolmens millennia ago. Bronze is not to blame.

So 4000 years — the date is very conditional. Most likely, the Caucasian dolmens were built in the Stone Age, and that dozens or maybe hundreds of thousands of years ago. The results of this experiment in the near future will be announced at the annual archaeological conference in Abkhazia and tabled in the specialist channel National Geographic, who will come to town in December.
